The Oxford Cat Clinic is the culmination of the long-term ambition of two Oxfordshire based vets, Caroline Blundell
and Martha Cannon, both of whom have a life-long passion for cats.
By providing a cat-only service the clinic provides
a calm and quiet environment that avoids unecessary stresses like barking dogs and unsympathetic handling.
Cats seem to
know know when they are with "cat people" and become much less anxious while being examined.
This can make the whole visit to the vets a much more pleasant experience.

The creation of the Oxford cat Clinic has been a long-term ambition for its two founding veterinary surgeons,
Martha and Caroline, who share a life-long love of cats. Martha and Caroline met when they were both working at the Veterinary Hospital at the University of Bristol, undertaking further studies in feline medicine. Caroline moved to Oxfordshire to join her husband Jim in 2000, and Martha followed in 2001 after completing a 2-year residency at the Feline Centre. In 2002 they joined forces to create the Oxfordshire Cat Clinic, which they ran for three successful years alongside their colleagues at The Larkmead Veterinary Group in Cholsey, who deal with all creatures, great and small.
It was soon obvious that clients and referring veterinary surgeons really appreciated this special service,
and Martha and Caroline began to search for premises in the Oxfordshire area in which to host a new feline only
veterinary surgery.
After two years of hunting they finally discovered the premises at 78A Westway Botley, and realised they had found the
perfect location for their dream project!
The Oxford Cat Clinic offers a full range of medical and surgical facilities.
These include 2 consultation rooms, a boarding facility for in-patients, a radiography and operating suite, dental
service, ultrasound, endoscopy, blood-pressure monitoring equipment and an in-house laboratory.
The building has been specially converted for its purpose, there are photos of its progress here
