CAREERS AT THE OCC
Exciting opportunity for a
VET with a Passion for Cats
November 2021

It is 16 years since Martha Cannon and Caroline Blundell first opened The Oxford Cat Clinic. In that time we have continued to grow, and now occupy two independent sites in Oxford - a beautiful city of dreaming spires set in the lovely Oxfordshire countryside

We aspire to be a practice where we make a positive impact on feline health care both for our patients and the wider cat community.

We believe that hiring passionate people with a range of skills and experience allows us to deliver the highest quality of healthcare for each cat and client, and that the best service is not delivered by one person working alone, but by a coherent and combined team working together. As a team we pride ourselves on providing gold standard service to our first-opinion and referral clients, and high standards of clinical care and compassion for our patients.

We are seeking a person who recognises what drives our clinic standards, and who understands the worth of the entire team and really enjoys and respects working alongside their excellent veterinary colleagues in the nursing team, reception corp and admin. We all play our part, and between us we all strive to provide the best care we can for our patients, clients and each other.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, happy soul to join our team, building the first opinion offering and working alongside our a cat-only referral service and team of experts. Part of our recruitment and retainment process includes finding out what are your interests and enthusiasms. We want to allow you to thrive and perform at your best.

We work hard to protect our employees quality of life. Time off (including lunchtime!) is prioritised and working hours protected so that overtime is the exception, not the rule. There is no "on-call" (phones go through at 6.30pm). You will be supporting the team to provide in-patient care on a regular rota - usually one night every week (most often phone support role for the overnight nurse), and one in 4-5 working weekends, with time off in lieu.

If you have great cattitude and attitude, and some confidence in team and solo work we would welcome your enquiry.

While It would be great if you have, or are studying for, an additional qualification in feline medicine this is not essential as CPD is fully supported and we can help you to learn. Competency with ultrasound, dentistry and surgery are all prized skills - but can also be taught.

We are ideally looking for a full-time (4 days a week) candidate, but would consider part-time applicants.

If you feel that this post may be for you please feel free to contact Caroline Blundell for an informal chat, or email our practice manager Melanie Weatherall in confidence at catclinicmanagement@gmail.com, including a CV and covering letter, describing how your previous experience is relevant to this role and why are you may be a good fit for this job.

We can provide more details and encourage visits from prospective candidates.

We look forward to meeting you!
